NCsoft today announced its financial results covering its second quarter and first-half 2004 results ended June 2004. During the quarter, NCsoft reported sales of 59.61 billion KRW ($71.98 million USD), with gross profit at 52.66 KRW ($45.21 million USD). Experiencing slightly lower sales than those of last quarter with sales profits down 15%, the company reported an operating profit of 26.9 billion KRW ($23.09 million USD). Meanwhile, NCsoft saw earnings for the first-half with respect to sales at 120.6 billion KRW, with operating profit at 58.7 billion KRW.
As far as the games side of things go, NCsoft reported that Lineage II and City Of heroes are both doing well, with sales as of the end of June at 86,000 units (Lineage II) and 190,000 units (City Of Heroes) respectively. Meanwhile, as far as active players are concerned, NCsoft reported that Lineage II and City Of heroes have 76,000 and 170,000 active players respectively. To that end, the company reported that NC Interactive, its U.S. online game publisher, achieved quarterly sales of $15.7 million, with Lineage/Lineage II sales at $6.0 million; while City Of Heroes sales have so far been at $9.7 million.
Last but certainly not least, NCsoft’s report today came with a bit of bad news, as it seems both Tabula Rasa and Guild Wars have been delayed. According to the earning reports, Guild Wars has been pushed from Q4 2004 to the first-half of 2005. Meanwhile, Tabula Rasa has fallen back from Q4 2004 to the second-half of 2005.
